Georgette Ghantous Williams has taught and choreographed Belly Dancing in Central Illinois for over 30 years. She was born in the Mideastern country of Lebanon and came to America with her parents when she was 3 months old. She grew up in a nurturing environment that was filled with love of family, heritage, customs, music and dance. Georgette has performed and entertained for audiences at conventions, weddings, nursing and retirement homes, workshops and beauty pageants, and has won talent competitions across the Midwest. She has been featured in news stories on television, newspapers and magazine articles, as well as an 8 week television series on “How to Belly Dance” which was aired throughout Central Illinois. The most rewarding aspect of teaching others the art of belly dancing has been the numerous letters Georgette has received from students who have been touched by her style of teaching, her enthusiasm for the dance, and her compassion for her students. Georgette offers Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced levels of Belly Dance, as well as a Belly Dance Choreography class. She teaches with the assistance of three of her daughters – Mary Rose, Christine, and Teresa, all of whom share their mother’s passion for the music and the dance. Body Fitness invites you to come and experience this unique and energizing dance. You will discover the coordination, grace, and excitement that Belly Dance has to offer while you meet new friends, gain confidence and poise, firm up your body, get a great work out, and have a great time.
