Abraham Ghantous has been dancing for 10 years. He took his first ballroom dance class in October of 1990 with a group of friends just for fun. He took dance a bit more serious somewhere back in 1997 when he was part of a leadership team for a Christian group that he had started with a friend. There was a married couple Cody & Dawn Ratliff who attended the group who were dance instructors. As part of the bi-monthly activities, Cody & Dawn offered to teach swing dancing as one of the activities. That is where his interest in dancing began. Over the years he has taken dance instruction locally from Cody and Dawn, Ralph & Gail Pagan and Mandy Barrett. While living in California he developed an interest in Salsa dancing where he was trained under Jemadean Haynie. Abraham has been teaching group and private dance the past five years at Body Fitness, Inc. Over the years he has taught Swing, Salsa, Waltz, Fox Trot, Cha-cha and recently Lindy Hop. He has taught wedding couples how to dance for their wedding dance and has also been hired to teach dance at wedding receptions to all the guests. In addition to teaching at Body Fitness, Inc. he has also been invited to teach dance at various high schools in the area as well as Bradley University. He has performed for many functions in the area including: Womans Life Style Show, CASABlanca, and PARC fundraisers. |
